Yubari Shrine – A Hidden Spiritual Gem in Hokkaido

Yubari Shrine’s sacred plaque bears the calligraphy of Admiral Tōgō Heihachirō. Though founded in 1888, the current hall was rebuilt in 1923 and renamed Yubari Shrine. Dedicated to four deities—including Ōyama-tsumi no Kami, the god of mountains—the shrine reflects the spirit of Yubari itself. Its serene and dignified presence stands strong against Hokkaido’s harsh nature. A place known for blessings in fortune and prosperity, Yubari Shrine quietly watches over the land.
